Hi Susan,
With reference to your no 1 twitter comment I wish you could write a blog about the spamming that is damaging local locksmiths in the uk. As well as Edinburgh I cover West Lothian and more specifically a town called Livingston. Until very recently I was listed there in a 10 box listing when Google’s Algorythms decided it preferred a Box system. However, the individual who occupied the One box listing has not been content by his prime position and has decided to add multiple listings from the same address. This goes against the guidelines set out in Google’s Business listings, but after reporting the spam on 3 occasion nothing has happened.
My own view is that Google has made a rod for their own back by allowing companies to setup an advert without a verified address and now spamming has got to an uncontrollable level. If only they had implemented a Postcard coding system from the outset then their troubles wouldn’t be so serious. Here are the 2 links to the offending individual who is clearly working his ticket to maximise revenue at the expense of the honest locksmith who cannot get listed.
As I said I wish you could write a blog as Google are certainly listening to what I have to say.
